Denotation - what we hear first what it may suggest
Denotation:
String instruments- slow drawn out notes - polysemic - mysterious effect - tension - mystery, horror, thriller.
Timpani - slow beats in the beginning and opening - polysemic - signifies heartbeat or footsteps.
Commutation Test - If you switch the string to a kazzu the genre would switch to comedy and vise versa.
When long notes are played from stringed instruments our heart beat slows down and uncociously hold our breath
When short notes are played from percussion instruments such as drums they create short loud sounds therefore our heart rate speeds up and we breathe faster.
